The Bible

Are you hungry and thirsty for righteousness? Psalm 97 encourages those who hunger for righteousness.  The heavens declare the righteousness of the LORD; the foundation of His throne is righteousness and judgment; His throne is bathed in light. Since this righteous God is above all things, the righteous are secure in Him.

I am so grateful to the Lord that He gave us the Bible. Even more so, I am grateful that He gave us the Psalms to read and be uplifted by the spirit in them.

God gives His promise to deliver the godly ones, those who hate evil and love the LORD. Do you love the LORD?  If so, you should hate evil, even the form and shade of it, individually, and also corporately. It is His promise that He will guard our hearts and deliver us from attacks of the “wicked one” in any situation.

Are you seeking righteousness? It is God’s ideal and purpose for our lives that we be righteous. He gave His Word to make us righteous people. He wants us to have communion with Him in the light from His throne.

Verse 11 says, “Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart.” Are you sowing light? How do you sow light? How do you plant gladness in heart? What a glorious vision it is! Jesus is the Light! He will be in us as we yearn for His righteousness and receive Him into our hearts.  There will be deep, inner joy flowing out from the upright in heart to touch the lives of others, regardless of the circumstances.

Have you accepted Christ’s righteousness?  Is Christ, the Light of the World, in your heart?
