An ever-growing trend exists in some circles to minimize the expectations God places upon His people. Some promote the grace of God to the point where His salvation appears universal, saying no one will be lost because God loves His creation too much to destroy them.

But God’s commandments place before us a high standard, and we are never to denigrate the need to obey Him, even when His requirements make no sense to us. Marching around a city, then shouting, shouldn’t make city walls collapse; but obeying God’s commands unleashes power in us and in our behalf that releases the enemy’s grip on our hearts and in our lives, giving us victories we could never gain in our own strength.
