The perspective of life is to live intensely for God and to apply the true wisdom, which is presented by Solomon in a dramatic way.

The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of people are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead. (v. 3 NIV).

The understanding that death can reach all of us does not mean a bad thing for the sons and daughters of God, because death comes from the enemy and it will be defeated (1 Cor. 15:26). “Anyone who is among the living has hope” (v. 4 NIV). Therefore every day we need to live intentionally for God. Living is not presented to us under some vision of pleasure, but our living should be in peace and joyful waiting for the coming of God. One example is the fellowship in the marriage. “Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun” (v. 9 NIV). Your home, your job, your studies and daily activities become small pieces of heaven when you have God’s love.

Comprehension and reflection bring the need of wisdom (v. 17). But wisdom does not mean just intellectual knowledge, it means moral greatness. “He who is a true leader will pray for an understanding heart, to discern between good and evil” (PK p. 31)

“Lord, help me to live in an amazing way for you, to look for the heavenly wisdom, and to turn my daily moments into small glimpses of heaven. Amen.”
