Reading through the Bible together
What would you say if God appeared to you like He did to Solomon and said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” Would your first thought be money, success in business, or a long, healthy life? To what greater need would careful, prayerful thought lead you?
Solomon said, “Now give me wisdom and knowledge” that I might lead “this great people of Yours.” God loved his answer. For God there is no greater treasure than people. He wants every one of them with Him for eternity.
How about the treasure He’s entrusted to you? Are you daily asking God to give you wisdom on how to truly love your spouse? Are you moment by moment asking God to help you know how to lead and love your children? Are your customers, co-workers, or employees richly blessed by the fact that you have a connection with the God of all wisdom and knowledge? Is even your neighborhood impacted because you’re praying for them?
God wanted Israel to make His glory known throughout the earth and bring salvation to everyone. He wants to do the same through you by having a part in His kingdom. Try today, at every step, to seek His wisdom. Surely for each who does, it will be as it was with Solomon, “The Lord his God was with him and exalted him exceedingly” (2 Chronicles 1:1).
